For those journeying through health and healing, Across the Fields breathes hope with quiet reverence.
Featuring violist, author and broadcaster Ed Le Brocq (viola) and composer-pianist Sally Greenaway (felted piano), this is an album shaped by love, landscape, stillness and poetry. The music is meditative and lyrical, blending classical, folk and light jazz.

Across the Fields, draws its inspiration from open pastoral landscapes, their wide expanses, and changes through the seasons.
Motivated by health and the journey to overcome setbacks, each track invites the listener into a sound world of quiet reflection through the textural combination of viola and felted piano.
Carefully sculpted by musicians Ed Le Brocq and Sally Greenaway, This album is perfectly distilled and deeply felt. Their collaboration is an intimate musical offering, a gift to listeners seeking a calming, immersive listening experience.
It has been such a pleasure to collaborate with Ed on this project, sparked as a result of us both experiencing health upheavals that affected our connections with music (focal dystonia for Ed, long covid for me).
The wonderful folks at Limelight magazine have just published a special feature article about the story behind this album.

About Sally Greenaway
A leading composer of her generation, Sally Greenaway's music delights audiences and musicians alike. Her music expresses our most intimate to grandiose experiences of our world, with a strong focus on nature, Australian landscape and the beauty in humanity.
One of the most striking qualities of Greenaway's works ... is that feeling for landscape which also characterises the music of Peter Sculthorpe or Nigel Westlake, the spacious scoring and meandering melodiousness contributing to a sense of sublime restfulness.
There is an intimacy in her music that is the size and weight of a human life. Sally's music is an act of kindness. A bird song. The path of a swan. The pattern of a rose. It is light reflecting on water. It is walking through a forest.
It's so easy to get swept away by Greenaway's impressive, evocative compositions.
